Vintage shopping is a personal passion of Joyce Marie. She has been collecting vintage clothing and housewares close to 40 years. When she started it was simply called ‘second-hand shopping’ and was not considered even close to cool or good for the environment. The only ‘Preferred Customer’ card that Joyce Marie ever received was from the Goodwill stores in Iowa, where she grew up, as she was such a regular shopper.
Today many people have caught on to this trend and vintage shopping has become a lifestyle for the young and old alike. Fashion designers and stylists have not been able to ignore this super trend and you can see the vintage inspiration in so many clothing and home collections today. Designers are now shopping vintage on a regular basis for inspiration.
If you know vintage then you know that it’s a first come first serve shopping experience. There won’t be another piece in another size or color right behind the one you have your hand on.
